We already knew something, thanks also to the answers provided by the engineer on the Journal of Nuclear Physics, but now other important points emerge regarding the commercialization of the catalyst, costs and maintenance.
As we already had reported, the E-Cat will be ready for the market between 12-18 months and will be produced by a new factory, still under construction, fully robotic. And Rossi explains what the expected progress is and the points on which he is working: "We are trying to improve energy efficiency" and integrate theDomestic E-Cat 10kW with current heating systems.
But a novelty emerges. After leaving the University of Bologna, Andrea Rossi would have revealed that he is working on a solution for an independent "validation" of his E-Cat together with two universities, but prefers not to mention them so as not to invalidate the certification processes currently underway.
And it works to show that unity E-Cat for home use really lives up to expectations. According to reports, Rossi and his team are at work with other tests, always secret, away from prying eyes in one of his factories, "rather than in a theater".
It also confirms the costs: the price per kilowatt is estimated between 40 and 50 dollars for the domestic units and about 1.500 dollars per kW for the industrial line. This gap is mainly due to the use of different technologies and different manufacturing processes underlying the two devices. Also good for the costs for the maintenance and the top-up which will be of "a few tens of dollars or a few tens of euros".
And about the competitors, albeit calm, Rossi does not deny that "it will be very hard". And that's not all. Rossi has guaranteed that if theE-Cat does not meet the performance data, a reimbursement of the expenditure incurred.
