She was crying in despair over the loss of her mother, a victim of coronavirus, Jaqueline Masceno, when in the midst of tears, a street dog approached her to console her. The woman was outside Teresina's Piauí hospital when the dog unexpectedly reached her and started licking her.

Jaqueline was very impressed by his affectionate gesture and said:

“Someone gave me a glass of water and the dog came and jumped into my arms, stroking me and I felt like it was my mother. My mom hugged me through it and it was such a strong hug that if it was really just a dog she would have bitten me. All the pain that I have felt, I have spent embracing it. My mother came to greet me through that animal. I felt it in my heart ”.

The dog continued to be with her all the time and brought back the affection that her mother had for animals. A woman who in the course of her life had repeatedly helped street animals, feeding them even when she was in a wheelchair:

“He has withdrawn his pension to help street animals. Even in a wheelchair, she put food and water. She said that if she was better off with her leg, she would take care of more animals. Even so, she had two dogs and a cat who are too sad without her. "

Jaqueline herself volunteers at Lar do Nando, a shelter in Teresina that saves street animals. Coincidences that made that chance encounter even more strange and special.

In the meantime, the photos taken by health workers of the woman and the dog have ended up on social media. Upon seeing them, Jaqueline thought of going to look for him and left the hospital told to warn her in case they ever saw him.

During the seventh day mass dedicated to his mother, the dog reappeared and Jaqueline, interpreting that meeting as a sign of destiny, decided to adopt him and named him Angel Gabriel.
