Several videos on Youtube, but little circulation: the paper newspapers, the old ones that you may not read anymore, they can be used to prevent weeds from growing in our garden.

A real nightmare for gardeners, but also for ordinary citizens who live in a house with a garden: the weeds. By detaching one, a hundred grows.

And many eventually resort to chemical herbicides, whose toxicity should no longer be the subject of discussion (but which unfortunately are still used a lot). But in reality, at least for small gardens, it is enough to have newspapers: yes i newspapers, which can prevent pesky weeds from growing.

First of all it is necessary to water the area affected by weeds on which we want to work. Then we have to literally cover it with newspaper: these will get wet and remain fixed on the grass, even in windy weather.

At this point the newspapers are watered again, then mulch material is spread, i.e. organic residues such as cut grass, dry leaves, vegetable scraps, sawdust.

And for at least one season we should rest assured: newspapers will decompose offering food to worms and other “good” organisms, very useful for the well-being of the garden.

    Here are some explanatory videos.

    Seeing is believing.
