Do These 3 Known Weight Loss Foods Actually Make You Really Lose Weight?

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

We shouldn't believe that a single drink or food can somehow be "miraculous" and can make us lose weight effortlessly. The only real way to lose weight is to eat a healthy diet and exercise. To "unmask" 3 false myths about foods suitable for weight loss is a young Indian nutritionist.

If you are taking certain foods or drinks only with the intent of losing weight, you will have to change your mind. Nutritionist and health expert Dr. Sidhant Bhargava recently talked on Instagram about three popular weight loss remedies that don't really help with this.

Let's find out what they are.

Green tea

There are many benefits associated with consuming green tea, a drink that contains antioxidants that can limit the damage caused by free radicals and reduce inflammation. A recent study published in the journal Nature Communications also found that green tea can increase levels of a natural anti-cancer protein, known to repair DNA and destroy cancerous cells. On Instagram, the nutritionist states that:

“You will lose weight by drinking green tea only if you drink more than 20 cups a day. And this is obviously not possible ”.

Apple cider vinegar

Another popular remedy to aid weight loss, which doesn't really help, is apple cider vinegar. It can improve your skin and hair, but it certainly won't help you lose weight, says Dr. Bhargava.

Coconut oil

The third food that does not help you lose weight is coconut oil, which in some countries is traditionally used for cooking. A cooking oil that is a source of fat and is high in calories.

Instead, the basis of weight loss is to create a calorie deficit, which means that you need to burn more calories in a day than you consume.

"No single ingredient can help you lose pounds alone"Says Dr. Bhargava.

What we must learn from what this Indian nutritionist says is that there are no magic foods for weight loss, but that the only way to really lose weight is to eat well and exercise.

The winning combination for weight loss is therefore always the same: healthy and nutritious diet, portion control and regular and constant exercise.
