infusion

Take the peel of the pineapple and, after having washed it well (better if using a brush for fruit and vegetables or alternatively a toothbrush) cut it into small pieces. Use 500 ml of water for the peel of half of the pineapple that you will insert into the saucepan, boil for 15 minutes then leave to infuse for a few more minutes. Finally filter, let cool and eventually sweeten to taste.

You can also enrich your infusion with spices of your choice such as cinnamon, ginger or turmeric; other fruit (for example lemon or orange peel) or even aromatic herbs such as rosemary.

Body scrub

The pineapple peel has a grainy texture that lends itself to being used to make a home made body scrub. However, you must first wash it thoroughly, cut it and blend it. Once you get a consistently grainy but much thinner consistency, this can then be used directly on the skin to ensure proper exfoliation.

If the pineapple peel scrub you made is too much, you can store it in the freezer in a glass jar and use it later.
