  • Draw the leaves on the green felt of various shades and cut them out with scissors. They do not need to be identical, similar is enough.
  • Get an old brownish t-shirt and cut a large circle out of it, cutting it out with scissors. Draw a circle in the center and cut it out keeping in mind that the baby's head must pass through here. Drill two holes in the sides of the costume to pass the arms through.
  • Apply the leaves on the fabric with hot glue, in order to completely cover the costume. Both on the front and on the back.
  • Have the child wear trousers and a sweater in shades of brown or green. Finally put the costume on.
  • To make it even more original, we recommend adding a headband embellished with leaves.

Also very nice is the following costume made with the foam rubber.

  • In this case, you need to cut out strips of brown crepla rubber and leaves of various sizes of green crepla gum.
  • Add some detail to make the leaves more realistic.
  • Create a long hat with brown construction paper and apply some leaves on it, using hot glue.
  • Get an old brownish or neutral colored shirt and cover it completely with the leaves and strips of crepla rubber.

Otherwise, cut an old green sweater into strips and embellish it with lots of green leaves, of various shades, which you can make both with felt and with simple cardboard.



You can create the headdress with green and yellow pipe cleaners, adding the leaves on top.

Here's another high-impact DIY idea that you can create with stiff cardboard and card stock. It doesn't have to be green, just paint it with tempera, draw the leaves on it and cut them out. Then apply them both on a brown shirt, which will be worn, and on the headdress made with cardboard strips.

DIY Tree Carnival Costume for Adults

Although there are very elaborate costumes, even the simplest tree dresses are very satisfying! Like the following, made with a pair of green pants, a green t-shirt covered with felt leaves (which you can apply with hot glue), and a large red felt apple, to carry around like a bag.
