DIY lemon candles: useful ingredients and preparation

We present several lemon candle recipes that you can try to make yourself at home:

Candles with lemon essential oil

ingredients:

  • 10-12 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 2 cups of soy wax flakes
  • Wick 15 cm long
  • Wooden spoon
  • Non-stick pan
  • Glass or metal container of your choice

Preparation

You start by heating the soy wax flakes over medium heat, stirring slowly until the wax has melted well. If you want to give a bright yellow color you can use a crayon to crumble and melt inside. Once this is done, the mixture is removed from the heat and the essential oil is added. At this point you have to prepare the wick by wrapping it around a stick or a pencil over the container that will be used to make the candle, letting the weight fall to the bottom. Slowly pour the wax mixture into the container. Re-adjust the wick if necessary. At this point the candle is left to harden for about 3-4 hours avoiding touching it. Once ready, just cut off the excess wick.
