Cinderella, Pocahontas, the little mermaid Ariel are all long-loved characters, but the artist wanted to imagine them in a social and cultural context different from the original one.
This is how Snow White abandons her long dress and her angelic air, Mulan her long hair, Jasmine her classic Aladdin pants. But Suarez isn't the first to revolutionize the concept of Disney princesses.
We had already talked about those imagined with ethnic characters where Snow White becomes Hispanic, Cinderella a geisha and Ariel a beautiful Indian mermaid. Also funny are the illustrations by Andrew Tarusov, a Russian graphic designer who moved to Los Angeles who transformed the Disney classics into films directed by Tim Burton.
