Design: from Sweden the ecolampione that lights up the streets for free for 20 nights

Development and no environmental impact. Even in Africa, where electricity is still a dream, the night can become brighter and without pollution. Or at least hopefully, if the project of some Swedish students who invented a solar-powered street lamp that needs only one recharge for 20 nights goes to fruition.

Development and no environmental impact. Even in Africa, where electricity is still a dream, the night can become brighter and without pollution. Or at least hopefully, if the project of some goes through Swedish students. Four rags from Chalmers University of Technology - Joel Högberg, Björn Rehammar, Viktor Karlsson and Peter Flodin - are invented a street lamp that runs on solar energy and which moreover requires only one recharge for a total of twenty nights.

Thus, according to them, even in the villages of the black continent, gods solar panels mounted on top of the streetlights can charge the battery during the day, while some light sensors detect the moment when it gets dark and start small Energy saving LED (the acronym stands for Light emitted diode: basically, small pieces of silicon are subjected to a small electrical voltage and emit light) soli 0.25 watt.

A motion detector will then activate a "Power LED" of approx 1.5 watts, which stays on for one minute when someone is around. Not only that, but the street lamp itself is capable of send a wireless signal to the nearest others, so that they too activate their own Power LED. In this way, the road is already less dark and even those who pass faster, such as a cyclist or a driver, receive sufficient light in advance.

In the project, each lamppost can have up to three arms, each containing 3 Power LEDs, depending on the installation area.

The LEDs have a lifespan of more than 100.000 hours and a fully charged battery can sustain light for 200 hours. Suffice it to say that only one hour of sunshine on a winter's day charges the battery with enough energy for two nights.

Same batteryfinally, it is environmentally friendly, since it does not require any maintenance and lasts about 4000 charging cycles, which is equivalent to more than 10 years.
