Descale the shower head without unscrewing it? The trick to say goodbye to limestone

The limescale deposits on the shower head clog the nozzles and make the water jet weaker, how to get rid of them?

He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Limescale deposits on the shower head clog the nozzles and weaken the water jet, resulting in more waste being wasted. With a few home remedies and a simple trick, you can easily descale it

Whatever the type of water that reaches our homes ("hard" or not "hard"), after some time even the best shower heads are filled with limestone which, little by little, clogs the nozzles and is deposited on top and in the gaskets as well.

A problem that leads to a greater consumption of water, since it will not come out enough and with the right jet to guarantee us a good shower. That is why you should regularly clean and descale the shower head. But how to do it without resorting to chemical detergents?

It really takes a few simple steps:

    1. remove the shower head, usually screwed on
    2. start removing the bulk of the dirt with an old toothbrush, but watch out for the nozzles that could come off very easily
    3. in a basin large enough so that the shower head can be completely immersed, pour half the water and the remaining half of thecitric acid. Remember, in fact, that citric acid is a worthy substitute for vinegar, highly polluting (if the encrustations are difficult it is possible to usehot water but at a temperature that is not excessively high so as not to risk damaging the plastic parts and gaskets)
    4. dip the shower head and let it go to soak for at least an hour, even better a whole night
    5. after the necessary time, wash the shower head under running water from the sink, perhaps reusing the toothbrush. If necessary, finish the job by clearing the individual holes in the shower head with a pin. The deposited limestone will have softened and will go away easily
    6. replace the shower head

But what if the shower head cannot be unscrewed?

    Here's the trick

No fear! In the event that it is not possible to disassemble the shower head, there is an alternative and equally effective method.

Once you have created the mixture of water and citric acid, recover an old plastic bag if you find it at home or, if you use them, a biodegradable food bag, fill with the mixture and immerse the shower head in it, closing it at the end. If the shower head is on the ceiling, use some rubber bands to hold it up.
