He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

Every day we try to control everything that happens to us, our daily life is marked by appointments and if something unexpected happens we immediately panic. Dechen, a little Tibetan monk teaches us to live life to the full.

Dechen is the protagonist of "Stop checking", an animated short film that shows how it is necessary to stop interfering with the nature of things in order to live peacefully.

How many times has it happened to us to be so focused on a goal that we no longer dedicate ourselves to everyday things, to neglect our affections? Sometimes, the impression is that life goes on, but we are not the protagonists ourselves.

Dechen's story shows us another point of view. The Tibetan monk is dedicated to gardening and at all costs he wants to take care of a flower found in a field. Dechen transfers it, takes it to the shelter, exposes it to the sun, protects it from the wind, but despite his love and his attentions, the flower continues to wither.

The little Buddhist monk falls into despair because he is unable to accept the situation and above all of not being able to have control over the flower and nature in general.

But when Dechen stop wanting to control everything, something magical will happen, with a surprise ending. What does this short teach us? That we cannot be the absolute masters of the universe, that certain things go as they should go and that we are powerless to change them.

Life cannot be one script already written with us, of course we can influence certain situations, we can make choices that will bring more or less positive consequences, but the adversities are there and we cannot control them.

Changes and unexpected events are not enemies to fight, on the contrary they can be impulses that make us feel alive and give us a little adrenalina. We all have a flower: it can be our relationship as a couple, the work we love, a project we care about, thoughts and so on.
