David Gandy, star model of a D&G commercial, launches a sustainable fashion brand

Gandy has just launched his very personal sustainable fashion brand and a first collection of basic and unisex pieces.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

We all remember the white slippetto and the movements in the piacione version, a little less the wonder of the Faraglioni of Capri and even less the background notes of Mariù and company singer. It is the now dated Dolce & Gabbana commercial and he, the aforementioned piacione, aka David Gandy, has recently decided to get talked about. This time in the "sustainable piacione" version.

Yes, not everyone knows in fact that the Gandy is trying to untie its name from the D&G duo - whose sustainability, rather, leaves the time it finds - and launches its very personal sustainable fashion brand and a first collection of basic and unisex pieces, from loungewear to sportswear. This is Wellwear, a range that he will use exclusively natural fibers and soft fabrics, to create - as we read - an "emotional connection between men and clothes" and feel good in your own shoes.

Now, beyond the fact that a lot of you would take those model clothes off, rather, at the age of 41, David, British, becomes an entrepreneur by launching a fashion brand conceived according to a precise philosophy.

Wellwear, in fact, literally means “to dress well” and the meaning is just that: not only natural fibers, but a real line of basic clothing, such as sweatshirt suits, polo shirts, t-shirts, pajamas and hats. In short, Gandy started with studies that show how simply touching soft and silky fabrics gives immediate psychological benefits and dampens negative emotions.

Most people probably associate me with classic business suits, but being quite shy of character, I often wear high fashion clothing like armor when I know I'm showing up in public for high profile events.

From there to choosing natural fibers, such as high quality Pima cotton or Aloe vera extracts, was a quick step. The aim remains to create ecological and functional garments, with breathable knits, which do not retain moisture and regulate body temperature, last longer and have a low environmental impact.
