The same ingredients are also used in the preparation of damselfish cooked with an air fryer, just as tasty but lighter and healthier than the classic fried version.

As is known, the air fryer does not require the use of oil and allows food to be fried by exploiting the heat accumulated in the cooking chamber. In this way the fried food is greedy but healthy.

Here then is a selection of delicious recipes to prepare damselfish with the air fryer.

Damselfish with an air fryer: the basic recipe

The basic dough of the damselfish prepared with the air fryer remains the same, only the cooking method changes. The important thing is that the dough always has a good consistency: it must not be excessively soft. To prepare it we advise you to follow our recipe, which involves the use of the following ingredients:



  • 500 1 grams of flour
  • 100 gr of brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 80 gr of ointment butter
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 2 organic lemons
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • powdered brown sugar to taste

Method

  • Pour the butter and sugar into the mixer, working them with a wire whisk.
  • Also add the eggs, one at a time, and stir in the grated lemon peel.
  • Gradually add the flour, salt and yeast.
  • Knead the mixture by hand until you get a smooth and non-sticky dough.
  • Knead the dough into balls that will be placed on the basket of the air fryer, lined with baking paper.
  • Heat the air fryer to 170 ° for about 2 minutes. Then cook the castagnole for 8 minutes.
  • Turn the damselfish and continue to cook for about 2 minutes. Please note that cooking times may vary slightly depending on the type of air fryer you have.
  • Finally sprinkle with the icing brown sugar.

The basic recipe for castagnole, as we have seen, usually involves the use of flour, eggs, yeast, butter, sugar, but there are many variations. There are those, for example, who add raisins to the dough, or honey and even ricotta. Here is a selection of super-greedy variations.

Ingredients

  • 140 gr 00 flour
  • 250 g cheese
  • 60 gr of whole cane sugar

Method

  • Pour the egg into a bowl and add the brown sugar. Mix well.
  • Gradually add the ricotta and continue mixing until you get a homogeneous cream.

  • With the dough, using two spoons, form balls and spread them out on a floured surface.
  • At this point, place some baking paper on the basket of the air fryer and add the castagnole. Heat the fryer to 170 ° for 2 minutes and insert the basket for 8 minutes, then turn them and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove the castagnole and let them cool before serving. They will be super soft!
