How to dry curly hair to avoid frizz? Plopping and scrunching are two techniques with which get well-defined and natural curls, without going to the hairdresser.

Plopping: what it is and how it can be done at home

The first technique to dry curly hair is the plopping.

What is it about? Specifically it is a different way of drying your hair after it shampoo.

The plopping was an immediate success, due to its simplicity and effectiveness; you only need one to run it microfiber t-shirt or towel to be rolled in the hair, so that once the curls are dissolved they are well defined and soft.

Why a microfiber t-shirt or towel? It is very simple, this fabric possesses a huge absorbing power and, consequently, it manages to eliminate excess water and moisture from the hair.

Here's how it's done: 

  • After using the classic shampoo, pat your hair dry with a microfiber towel
  • After that, make a turban with your towel by rolling all the hair inside it
  • Leave on for at least 10 minutes
  • After that proceed with drying using the hair dryer or diffuser.

The result? Hair soft curls, silky and without that unsightly frizzy effect.

Lo scrunching, as well as plopping, is a perfect drying technique for creating curls and defined and very soft curls.

The term literally means to roll up; hence, the technique that consists inwrap the individual strands with the palm of the hand from bottom to top. It can be performed both upside down and standing up, the important thing is to dry the hair using a T-shirt or a microfiber cloth.

Then, after shampooing, pat your hair lightly to remove excess water and moisture, and then proceed with styling; in this way, you will get silky and defined curls.


The extra tip is to carry out scrunching, dabbing the ends and lengths with a towel in order to obtain that rich "spring" effect that is beautiful to see and touch.


These two techniques as well as being perfect for natural styling of curly or wavy hair, are also economic ed ecological because they do not require electricity and, above all, products with chemical components that are harmful to the environment.
