Cinnamon is one of the aromas that most of all associate with winter and the arrival of the Christmas holidays. Cinnamon is not only very popular in the kitchen, for example to prepare an excellent hot chocolate or biscuits, but it can also be used to make fabulous decorations for the home.

In addition to being very fragrant and resistant, cinnamon sticks are quite cheap and easily available even in the supermarket. They can be used to create wreaths, trivets, decorate flower pots and candles.

The decorations that we propose in this article are nothing more than wonderful candles, made with cinnamon sticks. To create them it really takes ten minutes and very few materials. A very simple idea for a rustic style centerpiece, particularly suitable for the Christmas period!

Here's what it takes to make them:

    • A cylindrical candle
    • Cinnamon sticks (the amount depends on the diameter of the candle chosen)
    • Hot glue
    • A couple of colored ribbons
    • Some natural decorative elements like berries and holly

As anticipated, making these candles is really a breeze. First, choose a cylindrical candle that is approximately the same length as the cinnamon sticks. Now, get yourself a hot glue gun and "shoot" the glue around your candle. Alternatively, you can also use another glue, but the important thing is that it is powerful to make the cinnamon sticks adhere well. Continue, then, gluing the latter around the candle.

Once the operation is finished, choose a colored ribbon (perhaps taking the same color as the candle you have chosen) and wrap it around the candle, fixing it with a nice bow.

To make the candle even more special and give it a more refined touch, you can put it inside a cup or a nice transparent glass jar to enrich with other natural decorations, for example a little moss, holly or red berries.
