Counterorder! The use of cell phones does not increase the risk of brain tumor! The Oxford studio that overturns everything

According to recent research, radiofrequency waves emanating from cell phones are not cancerous, and do not increase the risk of developing a brain tumor in the future.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

Regular use of a cell phone does not increase the risk of brain tumors, the researchers of the University of Oxford reached this conclusion.

Fears about the potential link between cancer and cell phones first surfaced in the 90s when mobile phones began to spread and, despite concerns about possible carcinogenic radiation, today it has been proven that these claims are absolutely wrong. A systematic review

The new research tracked more than 400.000 Brits over a decade, and found no link between regular cell phone use and the prevalence of brain tumors.

Oxford University experts found, in fact, that 0,41% of women who used a cell phone developed a brain tumor, compared to 0,44% who never used the devices.

The study, conducted in the 20s, adds to the growing body of evidence dismissing concerns about the link between phones and cancer.

Kirstin Pirie, a statistical analyst and co-author of the study, said that:

Using a cell phone under normal conditions does not increase the risk of brain cancer.

Conspiracy theorists have long claimed that radio waves emitted from phones can penetrate the skull and cause cancer. These claims have become even more outrageous in recent years with the advent of 5G, which some claimed was linked to the Covid pandemic.

The Oxford researchers have shown that these are only false myths. In their study, they drew on data from 400.000 cancer-free women, aged 50 to 80, between 2001 and 2011. At the start and end of the study, participants were asked about their cell phone use.

Their responses were compared with their medical records. The researchers then checked whether someone has developed three different types of brain tumors: meningiomas, pituitary adenoma e acoustic neuromas.

Other factors that can contribute to cancers have also been considered, such as age, body mass index, alcohol intake, smoking, and exercise levels.

The results showed that people who used a phone over the 10-year period actually saw a 5% lower chance of developing brain cancer, compared to those who never used one during the entire period.

Additionally, women who used a phone every day were slightly more likely, around 1% higher.

Experts said the small differences in risk between groups were statistically insignificant.

Overall, of the 286.387 women who had never used a cell phone in 2001, 1.261 developed a brain tumor by 2011, or a rate of 0,44%. Meanwhile, of the 556.131 who used one, 2.278 concluded the study with a brain tumor (0,41%).

It is true that cell phones emit radio frequency waves, in the form of electromagnetic radiation from their antennas; and it is also true that the area of the body closest to the antennae, typically the head, has the potential to absorb some of this energy.

However, several scientists have claimed that these radiations are not ionizing, which means they are low-energy, low-frequency, and don't damage cells unlike X-rays.
