Here is the updated list of companies that respect our animal friends.

Twenty years of battles that have led to a great result: safeguarding the animals that were treated in the laboratory and the products that normally arrive in our homes were tested on them.

Before the law, a new ingredient could be subjected to some tests on animals if performed in laboratories outside the EU. As explained by VIVO - Committee for Conscious Consumption / NOVivisection they were very invasive tests for animals, always lethal.

We are talking about repeated toxicity (animals are given low doses of the substance to be tested for long periods of time, even for the entire life of the animal); reproductive toxicity (the ability of the substance to create defects in offspring when administered to a pregnant animal); toxicokinetics (how the substance reaches the cells and organs and causes any biological damage).

Thanks to the new ban, now in Europe they cannot be sold products that contain ingredients, specially developed for the field of cosmetics, that have been tested on animals, anywhere in the world, after 11 March 2013. Of course, ingredients tested before this date do not become outlawed.

Below is the list of companies that comply with the cruelty-free International Standard or undertake to:

Do not test the finished product on animals, or commission these tests to third parties
Do not test individual ingredients or commission tests to third parties
Declare that the tests carried out by your suppliers on the raw materials used took place before a given year of your choice (for example, 1995)

This means no longer using any new (chemical, synthetic) ingredients, but only completely vegetable ingredients or synthetic ingredients already on the market before the chosen year. Doing so does not actually increase animal testing.
