Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

At first there appeared to be two suspected cases of Coronavirus detected on the cruise ship "Costa Smeralda" sick at port of Civitavecchia, where the emergency protocol was triggered in the morning. In reality, according to the latest updates, there is only one, it is one woman with high fever and breathing problems. The husband, however, although presenting no symptoms, was put in isolation in the hospital on board as a preventive measure.

The Chinese couple comes from Hong Kong and landed at Milan's Malpensa airport on 25 January, before heading to Savona, where they boarded the ship. At the moment the doctors of the Spallanzani in Rome are taking samples to check whether or not it is Coronavirus and the results should be ready by the afternoon.

Vincenzo Leone, commander of the Lazio maritime directorate, said that there is no reason to worry, according to what Ansa reports:

“We are waiting to know the outcome of the checks still in progress, but everything that needed to be done has been done. The situation is under control and at the moment there are no reasons for concern on board ".

The other passengers, who number about 6 thousand, are currently blocked on board while buses, trains, taxis that should have transferred them to Rome and other destinations are stopped in the square in front of the port, waiting for news.

Before arriving in Civitavecchia, the ship had made stops in Marseille, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca.

The mayor of Civitavecchia Ernesto Tedesco stated that the situation is under control and that the various protocols are being followed:

“The situation on the suspected case of #coronavirus at the port of Civitavecchia is UNDER CONTROL. Since this morning I have been in constant contact with the health and maritime authorities who have immediately activated. All the protocols are being followed and we are constantly monitoring the case, thanks to the excellent work being carried out by the director general of ASL Roma 4 Giuseppe Quintavalle, the director of the Maritime Health Office Dr. Niutta and the Port Commander Vincenzo Leone. .
