    Severe coral bleaching has been identified near Palm island. The cause is most likely the warming of ocean waters that reach temperatures above the norm.

    In the coming months, the situation could worsen as a real heat wave is expected in Australia.

    Divers from the Australian Marine Conservation Society last week took pictures while diving and here's the preview of what is happening on the Great Barrier Reef around this time.

    The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has placed the Great Barrier Reef on red alert. The forecasts speak of very high temperatures for the next few weeks so much so that it could reach 47 ° C.

    According to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, ocean water temperatures for at least a month have been 2 ° C higher than the seasonal average.
