This conclusion was reached by a study presented in Munich during the European Respiratory Society congress. According to researchers from the Helmholtz Zentrum München Research Center, led by Christina Tischer, the protection of our furry friends would be effective at least up to 10 years of age.
The study was carried out following 2441 children during the first 10 years of life and noted in particular that 55% of them, who had been in contact with animals in the first three months of life, had a nearly 80% lower risk of asthma at 6 years and of 41% at 10 years.
Sometimes we protect our children too much from external bacteria and microorganisms, producing the opposite effect, namely that of not making their immune systems work well, making them weaker. Here instead, as the researchers argue, the fur of animals is a real reservoir of microbes which they actually would be can protect precisely from asthma and allergies.
According to scientists, even one may be fine fur cradle such as those that are now increasingly used to line cots and prams in winter. However, we prefer to suggest, if you do not already have it, to take a furry "whole" that in addition to being good for your baby's health will give joy and love to the whole house!
