The image was taken at about 20 pm in a desolate street in the city of Guadalupe, in the department of La Libertad and two hours from Trujillo, almost in the dark and in full curfew.
He is the little Alen Castañeda Zelada, only 6 years old and from a Catholic family, and the photograph was taken by the photographer Claudia Alejandra Mora Abanto, who then used her Facebook profile to tell the story of this photo:

On Monday 13 April, the inhabitants of his neighborhood had joined together "to pray and ask God for a hand in the emergency situation we are experiencing", and therefore to "share hope and faith". So, he says he took advantage of the few minutes of silence that precede the moment when people go out to their doors to pray with lighted candles, when he found that child and, in his moment of great concentration, took the photo. .
"I asked him later what he was praying for and he replied in his innocence that he was asking only a wish from God and that he had gone out because there was a lot of noise in his house and his wish would not be fulfilled."
