Remove the suspicion that cats only love you because you feed them, far be it from you to insinuate that the poor people think only of them. To arrive at these conclusions, the American researchers, led by PhD student Kristyn Vitale Shreve, examined the behavior of 50 cats, some stray others domestic, keeping them away from games, humans and food for a couple of hours. Then, the cats got the chance to socialize with people, get food, smell things or play.

At the end of the investigation, the researchers verified that there were no differences between domestic and stray cats, but rather that most of the cats preferred socializing with humans to any other category. In fact, about 50% of the cats preferred to approach people and 37% to food.
