The complaint comes directly from the Lav, which explains that it has received a video from a private citizen in which a scene that has unlikely outlines is filmed, were it not that we saw that video and for the crudeness of the images we decided not to publish it so as not to offend the sensitivity of our readers.
"On 5 June, in broad daylight and peak hours, in the parking lot of the Campoleone train station, in Aprilia (Latina), a man, presumably homeless, is intent on roasting a cat, after having skinned it, with the clear intention to eat it ”, writes Lav.
An area that according to citizens is not new to this type of violence against animals and in which crimes and thefts often occur. In the unattended parking lot there are many strays: dogs and cats that are fed by the citizens, among them also those who filmed the macabre scene.
“The man allegedly said he didn't kill the cat but found him already dead, probably hit by a car, a fact of which, however, there is no evidence. The author of the facts would have instead confirmed that he had skinned the animal with the intention of eating it, once it was roasted on the fire, lit in the parking lot ”, says Lav.
Beyond the clearly condemnable gesture, we remind you that we are faced with a criminal offense, or mistreatment of animals and in case it is ascertained that the cat has been intentionally killed, to clandestine slaughter.
"We join the appeal of the complainant citizens, asking the Mayor of the Municipality of Aprilia, the Carabinieri and Police Commands of territorial jurisdiction, for greater control and specific actions to protect the animals present in the area".
