    Do you suffer from insomnia? Here's a simple trick that will help you fall asleep: write one list of "things to do". It might seem counterintuitive, but actually compiling a list of things to do the next day can help you fall asleep.





    This is what a Baylor University study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology in 2018 revealed

    The participants, 57 university students, were divided into 2 groups, one of which had to spend 5 minutes writing down upcoming homework before going to sleep. The second, on the other hand, had to compile a list of the tasks carried out during the day that was ending.

    “There are two schools of thought on this - explains author Michael K. Scullin - one argues that writing lists about the future would lead to greater concern for unfinished activities, delaying sleep; the other argues that completed activity lists do not cause anxiety. The alternative hypothesis is that writing a to-do list 'drains' those thoughts and reduces worries. "

    The students were told that they could go to bed at 22:30 pm and were kept in a controlled environment with no technological appliances. Simply lights off and .. to bed.

    "Most people go through the things to do in their minds, so we wanted to understand if the act of writing them could counteract the nocturnal difficulties in falling asleep."
