About 2 million bees died in Friuli due to unknown persons who, out of sheer malice, started a fire with the aim of killing these insects so precious for our ecosystem.

This unforgivable fact was told on social media with lots of images by one of the beekeepers sadly involved in the affair, Dario Visintin, who together with his colleagues was warned by the police of the arson set on the hives.

In an isolated area of San Lorenzo Isontino, during the night, someone has set fire to bees resting in 21 hives and they set the flames on the entrances of their "houses", with extreme malice, so that they could not escape. At dawn the Fire Brigade intervened but there was nothing more to be done for the bees.

An infinite cruelty that had the very specific purpose of exterminating insects, unfortunately a successful goal given that about 2 million bees died!

These were in full production of acacia honey and, in addition to the fact that insects will no longer be able to pollinate, a very serious environmental damage, there is also the economic loss for the 15 members of the Karst Landa, owner of the hives which, however, reads from the post on Facebook as well as angry, they are really saddened by the loss of bees:

"That we have lovingly raised, making them overcome a particularly adverse season (that of 2019)"

The most incredible thing is that the purpose of the fire was precisely to burn insects, by someone who probably ignores the importance they have for our very survival.

As confirmed Pier Antonio Belletti, president of the Consortium of beekeepers of the province of Gorizia in Friuli:

"The goal was to burn everything and kill insects. Everything had been carefully studied"

The carabinieri are investigating the fact and we hope that the perpetrators will soon be identified and severely punished.

Unfortunately it is not the first case of fires against bees, just a few days ago we told you about the swarm of bees burned in Pavia.
