Among the many problems that companies have had to face due to the pandemic is also that of unsold goods in stores. The known Umbrian stylist Brunello Cucinelli has decided to donate all the items left in its boutiques to people in need who will receive them thanks to the work of a committee, managed by the entrepreneur's own family.

We have talked to you several times about a very delicate issue, that of unsold goods in the shops of the major fashion brands. In many cases, unfortunately, this for marketing reasons ends up in the pulp.

In practice, especially the big names, in order not to see their clothes or accessories "devalued" in the eyes of investors and consumers, they decide that it is better to throw them away than to sell them on sale, in an outlet or even give them away. A completely unsustainable choice considering that many people would need it.

Fortunately, there are also those who make different choices. This is the case of Brunello Cucinelli who announced the birth of the project "Brunello Cucinelli for Humanity”Which consists in donating all unsold items left in the boutiques of the brand due to the forced closure due to the coronavirus. And this is no small matter: the goods have a total value of 30 million euros.

All the garments will be easily recognizable as they are labeled with the words “Brunello Cucinelli for Humanity” and will be distributed as a gift to those who need them most thanks to a special committee managed by the Cucinelli family but which also includes external members.

The well-known entrepreneur commented on the novelty as follows:

“This project that we all define as 'intense' seems to me that in some way it raises the dignity of man and honors all those who have worked in the making of these garments. It will go hand in hand with the other, which started several years ago, which consists in repairing, recovering and reusing all our products. All this completes the largest project of 'human sustainability' in which we have always believed and which we like to summarize in: 'climate and emissions, care for the earth and animals and care for the human person'. It would be a real pleasure for me if this symbolic gesture were accepted as a sign of good wishes towards a new and lasting new time "

In a very poetic way Brunelli defines his luxury garments "a lovely resource for humanity":

"We have considered these garments a kind of 'lovable resource' for humanity, so we would like to imagine this choice as an investment for the future of our company in the great project of 'living and working in harmony with creation' "

Undoubtedly an unconventional entrepreneur who had previously demonstrated great ethics and humanity.
