Un sample of 97 obese patients was monitored for 12 weeks. About volunteers a sulfur-based compound was tested extracted from broccoli sprouts, comparing it to a placebo by a control group. The sulfur concentrate has been shown to be effective in controlling blood sugar levels as it is able to suppress the production of glucose by the liver cells but at the same time also to reduce the production by the enzymes.
The conclusion of the team of experts is that the concentrate is extracted from broccoli it could become a valuable blood sugar supplement in the future also to be included in drugs against diabetes.
