Inevitable life companions, the plants they make our homes more welcoming but need care all year round, there is no holiday that holds. If we do not have the possibility to entrust them to someone or to ask the neighbor to water them while we are away, we can opt for a solution that will guarantee their well-being even in our absence.
In general, the advice is to put all the plants together so that they form a humid microclimate. If you plan to be away for more than a week, you can give them the water they need using an ingenious solution.
We use fabrics and bottles
This idea uses recycled materials, such as a bottle (plastic or glass) or a container and strips of fabric. Both the bottle and the container must each be placed close to their own vase but at a higher height.
- Place a bottle / container full of water for each jar
- Cut strips of fabric 3 to 10 cm long
- Wet them and immerse one end in the water of the bottle and bury the other for a few centimeters in the vase, under the earth.
In this way the water will pass from the bottle to the earth easily and gradually.
