It takes courage to put convention aside and indulge in new experiences. For those who want to live in Brazil, here is the house to buy by spending only 26 thousand euros. A property with thermal and acoustic insulation, ecological, economical and ready in record time. In the city of Bonito the houses begin to be made with i containers. To confirm the global trend towards sustainability without sacrificing beauty in Brazil was Mato Grosso do Sul, the central-western region of the country.

Two years ago, architect Celso Costa Filho studied the idea and is now starting to see the first results, already having four projects contracted.

The structures previously used for the transport of goods, if transformed into housing, can be arranged next to each other. This is how the various spaces with different sizes are born according to the needs of families. If placed on top of each other, they can also become a 5-story building.

Inside, the furniture divides the rooms of the large loft, if clients wish. “To separate the rooms, we use the furniture itself, wood or plasterboard. The bathroom, for example, is made of carpentry, ”explains the architect.

Outside, demolition wood can be used for the facade or large glazed windows and door spaces can be opened. But Celso really likes the aesthetics of the container. "We used a product to remove the dirt and it was all very clean."

The architect promises to build one 60 m² house in 45 days, for the modest sum of 80 thousand Reais (about 26 thousand euros) including all the embellishments, interior and exterior decorations and furniture. There is also an eco-purifier, capable of filtering 97% of the water before putting it back on the network. “We also put shampoo in the bathroom. The tenant can only arrive with the suitcase ".

The most interesting thing, according to Celso Costa, is the possibility of infinite expansion without the inconvenience of restructuring. You can settle in the container and then expand the house with other identical structures or even masonry. “There are people who also want to create an area to receive visits. And this is also a good solution ”, explains Celso.

In Bonito, a 10 × 30 plot of land will have 60 m² of ownership, but in the future it can be transformed into a hostel with other floors made with the same system. Not to mention that, being a tourist city, Bonito could further benefit from it.

And the duration? A container has been used for decades, supporting tons of weight and ensuring safety. For the realization in record time, the architect trained a team of workers from Santos and Itajaí, two Brazilian cities.

The only downside is that there is still no public funding in Brazil to support this type of project, only what private banks make available.
