“Having a photographic background, I want my paintings to be like photos, as realistic as possible. In a dark studio while painting with UV varnish is being illuminated, I am literally painting with light. From the artist's point of view, it becomes very surreal, a spiritual experience ", explains Poppleton.
The artist we have used an economic one fluorescent washable paint, buying in a craft store. It is made for the little ones, so that the skin of the models is protected. At first, she tried to keep everything clean while she painted.
Then, he realized that the paint stains leaking from the cloth protection could give something more to the works, and you started using them. To illuminate the works and materials that react to UV rays there are both a large source of soft light and fluorescent lamps. To create the edge lighting, Poppleton uses large pieces of white fabric as wedding dresses and veils.
