Bears bathe in the lake among the tourists: mom and cubs cool off from the scorching heat in California

A family of bears consisting of a mother and three cubs has joined the swimmers of California's Lake Tahoe.

The bears don't seem to care about people, who, as the video shows, watched the show curiously, staying at a distance and filming the scene with their smartphones. The little family first eats the food left by the bathers on the beach, plays with objects and then bathes in the lake.

The Californian parks have always been the territory of bears, so much so that here the rules in case of sighting are very strict. In fact, Grizzlies can be dangerous, especially when in the company of puppies.

We got up and backed away quickly as we knew they were heading straight for our food

said the author of the video.

Witnesses said they screamed to ward off the bears (making loud noises is one of the strategies to ward off these animals), but the family, undeterred, continued to enjoy the shore. The bathers therefore decided to leave the animals alone and wait for them to leave without any intervention.

Unfortunately this is not the first sighting this summer and it will probably not be the last. Tested by the scorching temperatures, the bears approached the lake shore to find some refreshment. While the scene may seem funny and fascinating, it must be borne in mind that the heat wave that hit the United States has not only affected cities, but also natural places. Drought forces animals to move to cooler locations, despite the presence of humans.

The first victims of the Californian drought, a direct consequence of the climate crisis affecting the entire planet, are the flora and fauna. Suffice it to say that here on July 10, temperatures reached 54,4 ° C. The damage continues, so much so that in these days California is hit by terrible fires.
