A sui generis installation, the largest I've ever made: Banksy, the mysterious English street artist, returns to London, in the southern suburbs.
A sui generis installation, the largest I've ever made: Banksy, the mysterious English street artist, returns to London, in the southern suburbs. It looks like a shop in which his works would be exhibited, including the original (or replica?) Of the "dagger-resistant" jacket worn by Stormzy during the last Glastonbury festival.
According to the British press, the anonymous artist, whose works are sold for millions of pounds, allegedly took over a closed carpet shop in Croydon and filled it with a range of items.
A large crowd gathered this morning after the shop practically appeared out of nowhere overnight on the corner of Church Street and Frith Road, complete with a sign: Gross Domestic Product, or Gross Domestic Product, in support of Banksy's usual irreverent and provocative ideas.
Still, it seems that doors will never open, even if the lights remain on for the next two weeks. Or at least according to what he himself says on social media:
This showroom is for display purposes only.
Today I open a shop
(even if the doors don't actually open).
He's in Croydon.
It is probably best to see it at night.
