Baby sitter bonus, summer camps and compatibility with parental leave: all the news just announced by INPS

News from INPS specifying that the baby sitter bonus is compatible with parental leave (maximum 15 days) and with partial layoffs

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

We continue to talk about the baby sitter bonus that several families now know, even if there is always a lot of confusion about it. Just today, INPS announced some changes, which were actually reported in a circular dated 17 June.

As specified by Inps for the family on social networks, unlike what was initially said, the babysitter bonus is partially compatible with parental leave, but only for those who have used it for a maximum of 15 days.

Baby sitter bonus and parental leave

Some points of the previous circulars have been revised and changed and in number 73 we read that:

“The bonuses can be used as an alternative to the Covid-19 leave, increased up to a total maximum of 30 days. If the period of use of the leave does not exceed 15 days, the two benefits are cumulative and you will be able to benefit from the residual amount "

In practice, while in the first version of the bonus, a parent could ask for either 15 days of leave or 600 euros, now the INPS has specified that those who have already taken advantage of a maximum of 15 days of leave, can ask for the bonus for the remaining 600 euros (i.e. you can take half leave and half bonus).

A situation that someone will rejoice in but which is doing nothing short of infuriating many other parents who, convinced of the impossibility of taking advantage of both benefits, have asked for more days of leave and have now exceeded 15 days (consequently they cannot request the babysitter bonus).

Bonus and layoffs

The new INPS circular also clarifies the compatibility with the redundancy fund. Practically the bonus can also be used in the event of partial layoffs of the other parent, it is in fact compatible with the layoffs for "reduction" of hours or days. You can ask for example for the days and partial hours worked (for example 4 hours instead of 8).

Bonuses for babysitting and summer camps

Then there is another point that is difficult to interpret: that is the possibility of using the bonus for the summer camps instead of for the babysitter. But if you have already applied for the babysitter and now want to change using the funds for the summer camp?

INPS specifies that it is necessary to delete the first question and fill in a new one: "You must cancel the application and resubmit it, specifying in the application that the amount you need for the summer camp" replies the social security institution on Facebook to a user.

Si but how can the question be canceled? To find out we will have to contact the call center, because it has not been specified.

The circular also states that:

"In case of choosing the bonus for enrollment in the summer camp or supplementary services for children, the requesting parent must attach the documentation certifying enrollment to the aforementioned centers and structures (for example, invoices, receipts of payment or registration, etc.) that offer supplementary services for children, indicating the periods of registration of the minor (no later than 31 July), with a minimum of one week and the amount of expenditure to be incurred. The bonus will be paid in full in the event of a booking for all weeks falling within the indicated period, without prejudice to the possibility of submitting more questions for different periods in the event of subsequent enrollment of the child also at another facility ".

It is also essential to indicate the tax code or VAT number of the summer camp or of the chosen structure.

The baby-sitting and summer camps bonus bonus is available until July 31, 2020.

For the proven enrollment in the summer camps it is possible to choose the credit of a part or of the whole amount.

Are the funds already exhausted?

However, an essential point still remains to be clarified: the actual availability of funds for the bonus.

As we have already pointed out, a few days ago many parents had received this answer from INPS: "Application accepted with reserve due to budget exhaustion".

Baby sitter and summer camp bonuses, funds already exhausted? And many have filled out the wrong application

Several users also report that various applications, also submitted some time ago, have remained perpetually "registered".

The INPS periodically tries to clarify the various specifications concerning the babysitter bonus (it also made a tutorial to help in filling out the questions, you can find it here), but most of the time, almost incredibly, succeeds in create even more confusion and discontent than before.
