When sustainability meets design e technology, the result can only be an avant-garde architectural work. There Delft University of Technology, and more precisely the university library, in the wake of the latest trends in terms of recovery e creative recycling proposes a very particular example: a front desk that rests on a structure made entirely of recycled books.

Less than a year after the disastrous fire that hit the building, resulting in the loss of most of the volumes supplied, the new library has once again opened its doors to students by offering them a completely new facility, fun and very bright, combined with a rich collection of texts that have replaced those that have been lost.

To welcome the students at the entrance there is, in fact, the reception table that is the master among the architectural elements inserted in the new building. Colorful, made of glass and carefully assembled tomes, this design gem attests the school's love for books andeco-architecture.

The corners, particularly solid, give the whole structure the right stability while the scheme followed to arrange the books means that, from different angles, it is possible to read the back and know the title of the precious piece.

A transparent glass shelf dominates volumes, newspapers e riviste underlying, ensuring further solidity and conservation over time.

After the destructive fire that hit the entire building, the opening of an innovative, bright and very original space where they could study turned out to be a breath of fresh air for young aspiring doctors.

The new library includes areas dedicated to group work, workstations Internet and comfortable armchairs where to read in complete relaxation and an entire collection of thematic books on eco-design andsustainable architecture which, we hope, can inspire other projects such as the 'book-desk'.
