An aspiring tamer of a Moscow circus was killed by a bear. The boy had forgotten to remove the mask before entering the cage and the bear did not recognize him.

His name was Valentin Bulich and the boy who worked for the was only 28 years old Great Moscow State Circus and that a few days ago he lost his life after being attacked by Yasha, a trained bear.

The bear did not recognize the boy, that in reality he was not yet a trainer but a simple cage cleaner, as he showed up in the enclosure with the mask.

As his mother said, Valentin dreamed of becoming a trainer and after having worked successfully with the cubs, he had locked himself in a cage with this seven-year-old bear, but he reacted badly.

Some colleagues of Valentin promptly intervened dragging him out of the cage still alive but the boy died shortly after in the hospital due to the serious injuries sustained.

Valentin had the dream of becoming a real bear tamer but at the time he used to frequent Yasha's cage only to do routine cleaning. From the circus they told local media that that day the boy had stolen the keys to visit the bear:

“Valentine went in alone, this bear knew him well. He entered the cage with a mask and the bear did not recognize him. He turned his back on the bear and immediately attacked him "

After his death, an investigation into the accident was launched to understand how it happened and if all safety measures had been respected. But it is clear that entering alone and locking yourself in a cage with a bear, moreover without being an expert tamer, is a blatant violation of safety regulations.

The circus has already made it known that, despite the tragic accident, it will not kill the bear.

Yasha, among other things, had never been violent, on the contrary he was particularly docile with humans and years ago the photo of the animal pushing the wheelchair of an injured circus gymnast went around the world. licked his face after he was released from the hospital.

The episode rekindles once again the theme of the presence of animals in circuses which, completely distorted and forced to put on a show, sometimes suddenly rebel. Animal rights activists in Russia recently expressed concern over a series of incidents involving circus animals.

Tragic episodes like this shouldn't happen simply because animals should not be in the circus but in their natural habitat.

A similar event had already happened not long ago in an Orfei circus when a tamer was killed by 4 tigers during a training session.
