Now, with this new test, we return to talking about infant formula, a food that is used as an alternative or in addition to breast milk. From Switzerland, therefore, the umpteenth research he finds polluting substances in the products of the most famous brands in the sector.

Contaminated infant formula, test results
The K-Tipp did analyze ten brands of infant formula and in each product he found some unwanted substances, so that none of the packs was awarded the 'sufficient' stamp.
The reason is very simple, we read in an article in the Swiss magazine, all the products tested contained the 3-MCPD, for an toxic contaminant, which develops due to the treatments to which palm oil is subjected.

“This substance is potentially harmful but a way has not yet been found to completely eliminate 3-MCPD from the industrial process. But the amount must comply with a certain level, above which there may be risks to the health of children ”, reads the K-Tipp website.
Indeed, it is right l'Efsa, the European Food Safety Authority, to have established what kind of concentration can be found in infant formula.
What are the brands of infant formula with potentially harmful substances for babies?
All the brands analyzed, ten in all, contain one high concentration of 3-MCPD that exceeds the acceptable daily dose, the so-called Tdi established by EFSA.

Here, specifically, how much the content was higher than that indicated by the European Food Safety Agency:

- Bimbosan Classic 1, 5,3 times higher
- Alnatura of 3,3 times
- Aptamil Pronutra1 of 2,94
- Milupa Milumil 1 of 2,8 times
- Holle of 2,1 times
- Nestlé Beba 1 Optipro of 1,6
- Bimbosan Superpremium 1 1,6
- Nestlé Beba 1 Ha Optipro 1,2 times higher
- Hipp of 1,3 times
In some products there are also traces of chlorate and perchlorate, often also present in fruit and vegetables to open the ranking in this case is the infant formula Milumil 1.
Finally, in Hero Baby, Bimbosan Superpremium and Classic there is also the presence of glycidol, already analyzed by EFSA, judged to be genotoxic and potentially carcinogenic and which should not be present in food.
