Child exploitation, economic crisis, lobbying, environment and animal rights. Touch all these themes, and many others, the satirical art of the Polish illustrator Pawel Kuczynski, who uses good old irony to portray the topicality of social, political and cultural reality.
At first glance, his illustrations may seem funny, but after careful analysis they reveal to the viewer i great problems of our world. Each of his creations, in fact, hides a very specific emblematic meaning, aimed at “denouncing” the social or political aspects of the contemporary era.
It is a union between Goia and Forattini, in some ways: his works they excite public opinion and arouse attentive reflections in the observer. Born in 1976, Pawel is a Polish graphic designer by now well known in the world of painting and Contemporary Art.
With a pinch of sensitivity that comes from a strong social criticism, the artist reflects on life by showing the absurdities and contradictions of the human species in a general way, managing to strike, however, a part of each of us. “I consider myself an observer of everything that happens around me and I believe that artists can transform everything,” said the illustrator.
Pawel graduated at the age of 35 from the Poznan Academy of Fine Arts as a graphic designer. They have been recognized so far 92 awards in various national and international competitions. Last but not least, the “Eryk” prize, in 2005, offered by the Polish association of cartoonists. His works travel the world and have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad.
