He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

So the vet who takes care of him, Raquel Borges, he decided to take him to his home in St. Paulin Brazil, where she cuddles him, changes the mega diaper on which he is forced to stay, massages his sleeping paws and feeds him.

The lion, born in the shelter that Raquel herself created with her husband, has been visited by numerous veterinarians and all have established the same thing: the treatments for Ariel cost 11.000 dollars a month and so thanks to a message on facebook a real campaign was born fundraising , which has mobilized hundreds of people to collect donations to pay for the lion's treatment.

The launch of the Facebook campaign was followed by the birth of a dedicated page, named “Ajuda ao Leao Ariel“, created by Borges herself, which already has over 40 likers, following the increasingly worse conditions of the animal. Desperate, the young veterinarian launched an appeal to the world through the famous social network with the cry: "Help us to save him".

But for the ENPA the story should raise many other questions starting from the one: "Why was Ariel born in the zoo? The person who now takes care of him in his apartment (!!) is responsible for the birth of an animal which in itself meant a life sentence. Presumably the well-known consanguinity between the specimens held in captivity may have "gifted" Ariel with a fragile immune system and a predisposition to genetic diseases.

The best thing to do now for this poor creature, twice victim of the distortion of the correct human-animal relationship, should be a serious assessment of his condition and a therapy in a suitable place and not in an apartment.

This story should be a warning to us all and remind us that man cannot be the master of nature, cannot and must not imprison wild animals and use them as a laughing stock and that love and respect for them and for nature as a whole they presuppose quite another awareness and conscience ".
