Anxiety and negative thoughts: increase if you sleep little or go to bed late

    According to new research, those who always go to bed late, or sleep little and badly, are more prone to negative thoughts and anxiety

    Anxiety Problems? You can improve the situation by going to sleep early and rest the right number of hours! These are the conclusions reached by a new study carried out by researchers at Binghamton University in the United States.

    The research team, led by Meredith Coles and Jacob Nota, wanted to analyze the eventual relationship between sleep and the appearance of negative thoughts and anxiety. To do this, the scientists took a sample of 100 students whose habits were assessed through a questionnaire, especially relating to evening and night hours. Another test then had to analyze the possible presence of worries or an emotional side tending to the negative.

    It was thus possible to note that the boys who often went to bed late, had irregular schedules and they slept little they were also what they tended to be easier prey to negative thoughts, pessimism and anxiety. While those who went to bed early, resting well for at least seven hours, were generally more positive.

    The substantial division is that which is made between those who would never go to sleep in the evening (but who then find it difficult to get up in the morning) and those who go to bed early (and they wake up early in the morning easily). According to research favorite they are those who belong to the second group, generally more positive than those of the first group who tend to mull over their own thoughts.

    The scholars, who saw their results published in the journal Cognitive Therapy and Research, launched this slogan: "Don't worry, be happy, just go to bed earlier" (don't worry, be happy, just go to bed earlier).


    Certainly good advice is to get enough sleep, at the right hours and trying to allow yourself a rest that is really of quality. It will be all ours psychophysical balance to benefit from it.
