Let's go back to talking about seats with anti-abandonment devices for an important clarification. The obligation will start from 6 March 2020 and not from November 2019 as previously thought.

Many parents are grappling with a novelty concerning children up to 4 years old. All those who transport them by car must equip themselves with an anti-abandonment seat or a special device to be mounted on the support that you already have in the car. This is now law.

The decree was officially published in the Official Gazette but the deadline of 7 November (ie the one relating to 15 days after publication) will not actually be the limit within which every driver must have the anti-abandonment device.

This first date, in fact, refers to the moment in which the decree becomes operational, however, a subsequent time is given to comply and this is precisely possible until March 6 (120 days after its entry into force, according to what is reported by the law 117/2018).

So, to choose the anti-abandonment seat or the device to buy, you have all the time you need and also the possibility to request the 30 euro bonus. Among other things, during the next few months, solutions that are not currently available will probably arrive on the market, created precisely taking into account the characteristics that the new car seats or anti-abandonment devices must have.

Therefore, even companies have enough time to launch their products that families can then calmly evaluate. Cybex has already announced that it will not sell devices to be applied to child seats already on the market but offers two new models with integrated anti-abandonment. Chicco also already has a new anti-abandonment seat in production.

Other brands that have already launched into this new market are Remmy, Steelmate Bsa-1, Bebé Confort e-Safety cushion and Tippy Smart Pad. Then there is the start-up Filo which will be marketing an anti-abandonment cushion from November.

The advice, given that there is time, is to wait a moment and not get caught up in the rush to get in order but to evaluate well which is the best purchase for your needs (including economic ones).
