On anti-abandonment seats, Minister Paola De Micheli announced, following the controversy, that the government intends to postpone the sanctions.

Don't store avocado like this: it's dangerous

New important on the law that obliges parents to install anti-abandonment devices, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Paola De Micheli, in a video published on 7 November, reassured parents about the immediate application of the sanctions, declaring that there will be an amendment soon per extend the entry into force of the fines.

In the video, the minister said, addressing her parents:

"I would like to reassure mothers and families about the urgency of this device and about the" fines "for those who are not yet equipped with this tool: the ministry I represent is here for all clarifications and there is the availability of the government and the entire majority to intervene to postpone the application of the sanctions. "

As already explained, the date foreseen for the obligation to equip child seats with anti-abandonment devices for children up to 4 years of age has been set for the same day as the entry into force, 7 November 2019, a misunderstanding that has caused chaos among parents, forced to proceed with the purchase immediately rather than by March 6, 2020, or within 120 days of entry into force.

For this reason, the minister declared herself willing to postpone any sanctions while defining the measure, approved by all parties, "sacrosanct and civilized", and firmly condemning those who defined it as yet another "tax on families".

About repayment of € 30 expected for the expenditure incurred, the minister specifies that it is good keep the purchase receipts, although we still do not have precise information on the times and methods of return.

The penalties provided for in the absence of the anti-abandonment seat, for now, always range from 83 euros to 333 euros, according to what is reported in the Official Gazette. But as stated, an amendment will soon come out to extend its entry into force. Hopefully soon!
