He is about to end up run over, his mother saves him

An Australian farmer got the early lychee fruits without seeds starting from a plant purchased 19 years ago.

Tibby Dixon has worked hard for nearly twenty years on his farm in the far north of Queensland, for develop different lychee varieties through cross-pollination.

A painstaking work, which is carried out collecting pollen by hand from the male organs of the flowers and then transfer it to the female organs of the flower of a different variety.

Often, the pollen is not used immediately, but stored while waiting for the flowers to be more receptive and this makes the job even more difficult.

The latest creation of the farmer is this Seedless lychees, a variety still under development and that we may be able to find in supermarkets in a couple of years. In fact, at the moment the production is still very small, even if the fruit is already marketed in Australia.

It seems that, unlike other lychees, this variety is particularly tasty and that its taste reminds that of pineapple, as well as obviously having more pulp than traditional lychee.

It is obviously not the first time that seedless fruit has been produced thanks to human intervention. Man has always modified the varieties of fruit and vegetables to make them more resistant, nutritious or simply more palatable, improving their flavor or changing their color, or eliminating "disturbing" elements, such as seeds and thorns.
