Almond butter: preparation

Toast the almonds for 5 minutes in a very hot pan or in a preheated oven at 180 ° C. Pour the almonds into the blender jug ​​or food processor. Begin at blend the almonds until a flour is obtained. Continue to whisk to mix the mixture.



During the process, the almonds will begin to release their natural oils. If the mixture tends to stick to the sides of the blender, push it towards the center with a teaspoon and resume blending. To facilitate everything, add 1 teaspoon of water and 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil to your preparation.

However, if you use a kitchen robot powerful, you won't need to add water or oil and your almond butter perfectly homogeneous it will be ready in a few minutes. With a common blender, on the other hand, you will need to have a little more patience and add a drizzle of oil to blend better if necessary.

You can flavor the almond butter with a pinch of salt but this is an optional addition, depending on whether you use it for the preparation ofsweet or savory dishes.

Homemade almond butter can be stored in a clean glass jar or food container with a lid for storage in the refrigerator for about a week. With the ingredients shown you will get approx 250 grams of homemade almond butter.
