The mural by Jorit to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the death of the Bolognese singer-songwriter has finally been completed
For the anniversary of Lucio Dalla's death on May 1, 2012, the Neapolitan artist Jorit dedicated a mural to the Bolognese singer-songwriter in Sorrento who had left a piece of his heart in the splendid seaside town. The work had been undertaken towards the end of February and yesterday Jorit announced on his social networks that he had completed it, sharing a photo of the extraordinary mural with the description “Lucio Completo. We hope it will bring #PACE #HumanTribe well "(Read also: 10 years without Lucio Dalla, Jorit's extraordinary homage on the walls of Sorrento)

The homage takes your breath away, but the work has a strong symbolic meaning as Jorit has hidden in the face of Lucio dei details with a very clear message, hoping for world peace. During his career, there are many pieces in which Lucio Dalla openly takes a stand against the war, the horrors of him and the pain of this excruciating reality. Among the most significant are "Henna" in which Lucio sings
Too much blood here and there under the skies of shiny stars
In the silences of immensity
But who knows if it will change oh I don't know
If in this dark black future
Maybe there is something that will change us
, but also “Futura” and “If I were an angel”. It is no coincidence that as the background of his mural Jorit has chosen an extract from this last piece where the singer-songwriter condemns arms trafficking and the economic interests of the warring countries.

Just in Sorrento from this mural located near the Circumvesuviana station last week a symbolic demonstration for peace was held, in which the participants unrolled the drapes of the seven colors that make up the flag of peace.
