Aflatoxins in organic roasted peanuts in shell: brand and batches of the new recall

    New food alert concerning some batches of organic roasted peanuts in shell of the La Cenerentola brand in which aflatoxins are present

    The Ministry of Health through its website has announced the recall of some batches of organic roasted peanuts in shell. The company affected by the alert is La Cenerentola Srl, which produced the peanuts in the Somma Vesuviana (Naples) plant.





    As the alert points out, the problem is the “presence of aflatoxins” in some 150-gram, 250-gram and 4-kg peanut bags.

    The numbers of the lots lots to pay attention to are the following:

    • 254/21
    • 351/21
    • 363/21

    Given the presence of dangerous aflatoxins, genotoxic and carcinogenic mycotoxins, it is absolutely not recommended to consume these peanuts which must instead be immediately returned to the store where they were purchased.
