Properties and uses of Acerola

Inside, the Acerola has slightly sour-flavored wedges that contain a amount of vitamin C much higher than the oranges oh kiwi.

In addition to the very high quantity of vitamin C, Acerola contains provitamin A (almost as much as carrots), B vitamins (in particular pantothenic acid), bioflavonoids and tannins. Among the mineral salts, calcium, iron and magnesium are found in large quantities.

Just like oranges, Acerola - being rich in vitamin C - is indicated for preventing and fighting flu states, colds and respiratory tract infections.

It also stimulates the immunitary defense, develops an antioxidant action by inactivating free radicals and is particularly useful for fighting gingival bleeding and performing a rebalancing function of capillaries and hematomas.

However, taking Acerola is useful in all cases of asthenia, convalescence and vitamin deficiencies.
