A new vertical garden now it covers the facade of the Raval Theater di Barcellonto. It is a sophisticated cultivation and irrigation system that is completely self-sufficient. The water reserves are integrated into the facade and the irrigation distribution pump is powered by solar panels.
The project, born to make Barcelona greener, was carried out by Unusual Garden and by Urbanarbolismo, which we had already told you about the vertical garden in the shape of a tree in the heart of the Basque Country and theeco-friendly green-roofed auditorium made around the Spanish city of Elche.
The creation of the new vertical garden at the Rival Theater began in November 2013. The Raval Theater is located in the district of the same name in Barcelona. The theater now features a lush facade with greenery covering an area of 45 square meters.

The new vertical garden in Barcelona was built using the eco system.bin which provides structural support and space for the irrigation system. Among the plants used we find Chlorophytum comosum and Plectranthus. No external water sources are needed to irrigate the garden. It all happens thanks to the wing rainwater collection, which is collected from the roof of the theater and stored in a tank.
The two solar panels present on the roof of the theater generate the energy necessary to pump the water from the tank towards the top of the garden and then downwards and along the green wall, to reach all the plants.
Citizens and tourists can easily understand how the vertical garden works thanks to an explanatory panel placed nearby. If you are planning a trip to Barcelona, do not forget to pass by the Raval Theater to admire this novelty.
