When the mind begins to wander and thoughts crowd it, stop and try stare at an object located on your desk or in the room where you are. Then look away, close your eyes, take a deep breath and start studying or working again. This trick is suitable when you need to switch from one activity to another.

If you have a very long job to complete but just can't concentrate, try the minimum goals technique. For example, propose to study well three pages at a time, if you have to write, propose to put together five or ten lines at a time before getting distracted for a few seconds and start working or studying again.
