Do you often lose focus at work or while studying? Perhaps there are too many distractions around you or your mind is unable to focus because you are thinking about something else, perhaps about some problem that is difficult to solve.





Concentration though is critical both while studying and while working to avoid mistakes and to be able to memorize notions. Fortunately, there are some strategies and exercises that can help us regain concentration quickly and effectively.

Here are 5 strategies to regain focus quickly.

Staring at an object

When the mind begins to wander and thoughts crowd it, stop and try stare at an object located on your desk or in the room where you are. Keep staring at this object for at least a minute or two trying not to think about anything but what is in front of you. Then look away, close your eyes, take a deep breath and start studying or working again. This trick is suitable when you need to switch from one activity to another.

Focus on the breath

La concentration on the breath it is one of the most effective weapons we have at our disposal to regain concentration quickly. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, just think of the air coming in and out of your nostrils, relax and recharge with the breath. In this way you will be ready to get back to work in a short time and you will be more energetic.

Posting strategy

When you are not alone while studying or working it can be difficult to concentrate. In this case, try the detachment technique and imagine you are alone in a room surrounded by a capsule or a mountain range that isolates you from the world. Visualize yourself in this situation and you will notice that your concentration will improve and that the voices of others will no longer bother you.



Tomato technique

La tomato technique suggests you to have a nice timer that will allow you to focus only on your activity for 25 minutes and to take a break of 5 minutes to relax your mind and let your thoughts wander. After the break you will return to activities even more concentrated. Having a timer will help you work faster and save valuable time.

Minimum Goals Strategy

If you have a very long job to complete but just can't concentrate, try the minimum goals technique. For example, propose to study well three pages at a time, if you have to write, propose to put together five or ten lines at a time before getting distracted for a few seconds and start working or studying again.
