4 racehorses died, probably from excessive heat, during the journey on a ship that took them to Sardinia for a race

They were called Bometeor, Bomodel da Clodia, Botrus and Badidu de Zamaglia, the 4 Anglo-Arab-Sardinian horses that participated in international competitions and that, unfortunately, were unable to overcome a trivial journey by ship. What exactly happened? The only certain thing is that 4 of the 9 horses in the van are dead and that now we need to understand the causes and responsibilities. For this, the report of the veterinarians will be fundamental.
The owner and trainer Massimiliano Narduzzi who accompanied them is convinced that the horses died during the journey due to high temperatures recorded on board the ship Moby Aky bound for Olbia. The horses were in a dedicated transport van, placed in the lower garage of the ship.
He said he noticed the tragedy a few minutes after the landing but Tirrenia for its part denies and assures that the horses got off their ship still alive.
In reality, the horses transported were 9 and therefore 5 were saved (even if one is in serious condition), these are those who were in the front of the vehicle.
This terrible episode rekindles attention on the issue of animal transport which, during the summer season with the scorching heat, should be managed with greater care or even avoided to avoid such tragedies.
As he remembers Horse-Angels, association for the promotion and defense of animals and the environment:
“In extreme heat, the long-distance transport of horses in general and in particular in the hold of a ship should be prohibited. For horses it should only be legal to pass on bridges and ships that cannot guarantee the welfare of the horses, should not be able to sell transit tickets "
The association has also announced that it will make a complaint to the competent power of attorney to initiate an investigation into the death of the horses and identify any negligence and liability. Finally, he stresses the importance of owners making sure of their pets' travel conditions before leaving in order not to risk serious consequences such as this.
