If the metal parts of your shower have limescale that is difficult to remove with a single pass of the products you commonly use, immerse a cotton cloth or towel in hot water and white vinegar and use it to wrap the shower arm or other interested parts. It is a valid method to be used also for bathroom or kitchen taps. For limescale on shower walls or shower curtains, pass one cloth moistened with water and vinegar.

If the drain plugs from bathtubs, showers or sinks they have a limescale patina, it is often useless to waste time and waste energy insisting on rubbing. It will be enough for you to leave immersed throughout the night or all day plugs or other small parts of the taps in pure vinegar (white wine vinegar or apple vinegar) or alternatively in citric acid. So try scrubbing the edges with one toothbrush dipped in lemon juice or vinegar. A further remedy consists in closing the drain with the special plug and filling the sink with vinegar until the part is completely covered. Wait a few hours for the miracle to take place and then scrub again with the help of the toothbrush if necessary.



Coffeemakers

If the problem is the inside of the underside of your coffee pot, all you have to do is fill it with vinegar and leave to rest for a few hours, until the limestone has dissolved. As for the upper part of the coffee maker and the filter, you can immerse them in a bowl with water and vinegar.

Kettle

Limescale normally settles on the bottom of the electric kettle, which is often difficult to reach for a complete cleaning. The solution is in the fill the kettle halfway with equal parts water and vinegar. At this point it must be normally activated. After switching off, let everything rest for a few hours. The limestone will have dissolved completely. If there are any traces left, shake it with a toothbrush or a damp sponge.

WC

To delete the limestone from the top of the toilet, you could place a cloth or a towel soaked in water and vinegar on the edge of it and leave it to act until the encrustations have softened. To reach the inland areas, prepare a simple spray combining one part of water and one part of vinegar. For stubborn encrustations, gently scrub the stubborn spots with the help of a pumice stone.

Stoves

The most effective natural remedy for removing limescale from removable parts of the stove is touse of lemon slices or of the internal part of the peel left after having squeezed one, to be rubbed on them, also obtaining an excellent polishing action. For the most critical situations, each part can be immersed in a bowl or glass containing water and vinegar.


Mirrors and tiles

for limescale removal from tiles or mirrored surfaces, vinegar and lemon will once again prove to be the ideal solution. Depending on what you have on hand, mix one part of warm water with one part of vinegar or one part of lemon juice. Transfer to a spray container and apply to a damp cloth or directly to surfaces, then scrub and rinse.


Washing Machine

Here is a simple remedy to prepare a solution capable not only of descaling the washing machine, but also of function as a real laundry softener. Just pour 50 milliliters of a solution prepared by pouring 3 tablespoons of citric acid into 500 milliliters of water into the softener compartment. The advice is to use a container with cap so as to be able to shake the solution both to complete its preparation and each time before use. Citric acid can be purchased online or at a pharmacy. If pure, it is completely biodegradable.

Dishwasher

The rinse aid for the dishwasher can be replaced by one solution of water and citric acid. In each liter of water it will be necessary to dissolve an amount equal to 10 grams of citric acid and shake everything. Approximately once a month, the dishwasher should be washed empty by pouring part of the solution into the compartment designed for rinse aid.
